Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel & Conference Centre promotes Ahmed Parkar to the position of General Manager effective April 4, 2016.
Ahmed progresses into his new role from working as the Director of Operations at the Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel & Conference Centre, overseeing Front Office, Food & Beverage, Culinary, Housekeeping and Engineering departments. During his tenure, Ahmed served as Hotel Champion for the Starwood Brand Health Quality Audit, was an integral part in the hotel achieving very positive Guest Satisfaction scores in 2015, and was a contributor to Food & Beverage achieving its best year ever in both revenue and profit.
Ahmed has built his career earning him over 15 years of food and beverage and hospitality experience. He began his management career in 1994 while working as a Conference and Banquet Operations Manager with Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He was then promoted in 1998 to Food & Beverage Outlets Manager for the same hotel and worked in the role until 2001.
Prior to joining Larco Hospitality, Ahmed worked with the Toronto Airport Marriott since 2001 in various positions including Event Services Manager, Director of Events Operations and then promoted to Director of Event Management in 2008. Ahmed joined the Larco Hospitality team in 2011 as Director of Catering & Event Management until he was promoted to his most recent positon as Director of Operations with the Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel & Conference Centre.
Ahmed holds a Diploma in Hotel Management from Les Roches International School of Hotel Management in Switzerland and a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting.
